3 Signs It's Time For a Trim

Trimming our natural hair is an important habit for growing healthy hair. It helps keep the hair looking and feeling strong. Here are 3 signs that it’s time for a trim:

1. Your ends don't curl

(Even with a flexi rod or perm rod)

Ends that hold a curl are a sign that your ends are healthy. If that's not the case for you, consider trimming or dusting your ends (cutting off only 1/4 inch from your hair).

2. Your hair is harder to detangle (than usual)

Single strand knots (or fairy knots) form in our hair overtime from manipulation and our hair overtime from manipulation and our hair strands naturally weaving together. This forms tangles and can lead to breakage if they're not trimmed off.

If detangling takes more time and hassle than usual, it may be time for a trim!

3. Your ends are dry no matter how much you moisturize

If your hair is dry, and adding moisture doesn't solve the problem, it might be time for a trim. Damaged ends cannot be properly moisturized and sealed, so dry ends can be a sign that it's time for a trim!

Do you trim your hair on a schedule or as needed? I'd love to know in the comments!
